Our Story
The Giving Tree of WNY is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded on the belief that a community thrives when its members care for one another.
Inspired by generosity and collaboration, we recognized a growing need in our rural communities—families and individuals facing hardship. We saw both a need to support our neighbors and an opportunity to connect available resources with real community needs.
Today, The Giving Tree is building a network of partners and supporters who are committed to serving our neighbors in practical ways. Through planned community outreach events and collaborative partnerships, we are working to bring people together to meet essential needs and strengthen our local communities.
We invite individuals, businesses, and organizations to partner with us as we grow this work together.
Our Mission
The Giving Tree of WNY exists to support individuals and families facing hardship by building partnerships and mobilizing resources to connect real community needs with meaningful support.
Through planned outreach events, we work to strengthen communities throughout Elma, Marilla, Wales, and surrounding rural areas—meeting essential needs with dignity, care, and compassion.
During these seasonal outreach events, The Giving Tree distributes essential resources such as hygiene supplies, household goods, clothing, and other practical items to individuals and families in need.
Our Team
Our dedicated team is the heart of The Giving Tree of WNY.
Executive Director – Graciella Kleitz
Provides overall leadership for the organization, including planning outreach events, overseeing operations, and guiding partnerships and community relationships.
Operations Coordinator – Charity Kleitz
Organizes incoming and outgoing donations within the warehouse and helps ensure resources are prepared for outreach efforts.
Development Coordinator – Jill Atkinson
Focuses on donor outreach and maintaining relationships with individuals and businesses who support our mission.
